Wellness Center - COVID-19 Update

The Wellness Center has been diligently working to determine the best way to proceed and continue to offer support while also adjusting to the needs and reality of our current situation. We are still here for you.

In light of campus transition to online course delivery, as well as recommendations from the Center for Disease Control to limit personal contact to reduce the risk of infection, CAPS is implementing the following temporary service changes.

For Student Health Services:

Student Health Services will provide a Nurse Advice Line for consultation and guidance on physical health related conditions. To access the Nurse Advice Line, please call 404-471-7100 and follow the prompts to reach Student Health Services. The Nurse Advice Line is available Monday - Thursday 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM. For physical health related concerns that occur outside of these times, please contact your primary care provider or local urgent care center.

***Please note: If you are experiencing a life threatening condition such as chest pain, shortness of breath, severe bleeding, or difficulty breathing, please dial 911.***

For Counseling and Psychological Services:

We will provide consultation via video-conferencing, phone, secure messaging (via Medicat Patient Portal) and email, and are available Monday – Thursday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.

The CAPS Director, Counselors and Staff Psychiatrist will communicate with student clients, who have existing scheduled appointments, regarding clinically appropriate next steps. Students will have access to a combination of services including consultation, teletherapy and referral.

If you need to reach a CAPS staff member for a non-urgent issue, you may contact your Counselor directly, or if you have not been assigned a Counselor, please call the CAPS Director, Katie Ganske, at (404) 471-5443, OR visit the Wellness Center Student Portal at agnesscott.medicatconnect.com to send a secure message.
