For Incoming Students and Families

Welcome to Agnes Scott College! We are eager to get to know you and help you begin to develop your academic plan.

Every Scottie begins their Agnes Scott educations with different priorities and plans:

• Some students arrive with very clear ideas about their academic plan and are already looking ahead to “declaring a major” in a particular field.
• Other students arrive knowing that they want to take some time to reflect and explore their academic interests as widely as possible.
• Still others find themselves somewhere in between, with strong interests in a few different fields.

No matter what group you fall into, you will find clear guidance here.

After spending some time preparing, you’ll consult directly with your SUMMIT Advisor about your specific questions, the SUMMIT curriculum, and your fall course plan during your summer advising appointment via Google Meet or Skype. You will sign up for an appointment with your SUMMIT Advisor via COMPASS, our online academic advising system. Making thoughtful decisions about your courses and programs is an important first step in making the best fit for yourself here on campus.
