Your Path to Retirement

Agnes Scott College is committed to supporting your long-term financial well-being through comprehensive retirement plan options and resources. Whether you are just beginning your career or planning for the years ahead, this page provides the information you need to understand your retirement benefits, explore available plans, and make informed decisions about your financial future.

Retirement Plan

Agnes Scott College offers a 403(b) Defined Contribution Retirement Plan through TIAA to help employees save for retirement. Full- and half-time employees who work at least 1,000 hours per year are required to participate after completing one year of service, contributing 3.5% of their salary. Employees are immediately vested in their own contributions and fully vested in the College's contributions after two years of service. The plan offers a variety of investment options, and employees can make additional voluntary contributions, subject to IRS limits and consultation with TIAA or a personal financial adviser. Salary reduction elections can be updated once per year.

Complete plan details, enrollment forms, and the Summary Plan Description are available through the Office of People and Culture. The College reserves the right to modify or discontinue the plan at any time. Employees can view their TIAA account by visiting their TIAA page.

TIAA offers a robust series of educational webinars designed to support employees through every stage of their financial journey, from early career planning to retirement readiness. These live and on-demand sessions provide expert guidance on a wide range of topics, including budgeting, saving and investing, managing debt, Social Security, retirement income strategies, and long-term financial wellness. Offered regularly throughout the year, TIAA webinars allow employees to learn at their own pace, ask questions, and build confidence in making informed financial decisions.
