Legacy FAQ

Legacy: New Student Orientation is the perfect entry into life as a student at Agnes Scott College. New Scotties will learn all about Agnes Scott's famed traditions and Honor Code expectations and receive a snapshot of what it means to be a part of the Agnes Scott community.

Leadership development is a feature of the SUMMIT Curriculum and your Summit experience began the moment you chose to attend Agnes Scott College. We will also be introducing you to the culture of Agnes Scott, and personal leadership is a cornerstone of our community. Legacy: New Student Orientation is designed to prepare you to grow in your Agnes Scott experience.
Legacy: New Student Orientation is a graduation requirement and must be completed in full as part of your Agnes Scott experience. If you have an extenuating circumstance that you believe prohibits your full participation, please contact legacy@agnesscott.edu.
Don’t expect to be bored! Legacy: New Student Orientation is an active, engaging program where you will be working hard and having fun at the same time. This year Legacy: New Student Orientation will be held in person with a small group. Expect to have lots of engaging conversations throughout your experience and learn more about your Agnes Scott community.
There will be tours throughout move-in day on August 18, 2022, and during our Campus Resource Fair on August 19, 2022. There will also be many activities around our campus throughout Legacy: New Student Orientation.

Proof of vaccination is currently required for students to move in on August 18, 2022. As we monitor the continuing COVID pandemic, information on the necessity of proof of vaccination for guests will be available as we approach New Student Move-In.
The college continues to monitor the spread of COVID-19 variants and their potential impact on our community. While we feel confident that the college’s vaccination, testing, masking and distancing requirements will enable us to come together in person soon, based on recent projections of the spread of the virus, we will continue to follow local regulations and public health recommendations. More information about this will be available as Legacy: New Student Orientation approaches.
Absolutely! When there is time in your schedule, feel free to use it to explore our surrounding community. 
There will be a Passport Fair on move-in day. There will be resources there to walk you through the process of acquiring a passport. For more information about Journeys and the documentation, you’ll need, visit the Center for Global Learning.
