The Carbon Neutrality Advisory Board is a group of leaders with expertise in and commitment to environmental sustainability who are guiding and assisting the college in its efforts to achieve carbon neutrality and foster the next generation of climate action and justice professionals. Agnes Scott’s Climate Action Plan, adopted in 2009, set the goal of carbon neutrality by 2037. As of June 2024, the college’s most recent greenhouse gas inventory, Agnes Scott had reduced its carbon emission by 52%!
Advisory board members foster workforce development opportunities by guiding outcomes that are incorporated into co-curricular, research and hands-on opportunities; sharing technical and subject matter expertise to build the next phase of foundational relationships to creatively fund carbon neutrality that can be replicated across industries; and elevating the successes and unique potential of Agnes Scott’s sustainability programs.
