LEED at Agnes Scott

LEED Certification 101
LEED, or Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, is a green building certification program managed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices. To receive LEED certification, building projects satisfy prerequisites and earn points to achieve different levels of certification. Prerequisites and credits differ for each rating system, and teams choose the best fit for their project.

Environmental Leadership in Action
Since 2007, Agnes Scott College has been committed to achieving at least LEED Silver certification on all new construction and major renovation projects. Currently the college has one LEED Silver building and one building anticipating LEED Gold. The major construction projects at Agnes Scott that have undergone LEED certification have used the LEED Building and Construction (BD+C) scoring system. Specifically, these projects have fallen under the LEED v3 2009 for New Construction and Major Renovations.
