The Check-Out Process

When you are ready to move out, please make sure to completely clear your side of the room. Leave nothing behind — no hangers, mirrors, shower curtains or trash. You must also thoroughly clean your room before you check out.

Before you check out of your residence hall and leave campus, please:

  • Pack and label your belongings.
  • Clean your room, emptying all items from desk, dresser, closet, etc.
  • Clean the bathroom, kitchen and living/dining room (if applicable).
  • Clear any of your items the residence hall common areas — kitchen, laundry room, lounges, etc.
  • Turn the heat on low (68 degrees).
  • Empty the trash and recycling.
  • Turn off the lights.
  • Lock all windows and doors.
  • Turn your key/check-out envelope to the Office of Residence Life in Lower Winship before departing campus.
