Dr. Lynell Williams (she/her) is an assistant professor in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Agnes Scott College. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia Southern University. Dr. Williams completed her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at the University of Georgia, where she also earned a graduate certificate in Organizational Leadership Coaching. During her doctoral studies, she was awarded a National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) Doctoral Fellowship.
Dr. Williams is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). She is the founder of Get Mindful With Me Consulting and Wellness, a private practice and consulting business where she provides counseling, coaching, workshops, and digital wellness resources tailored to women navigating ADHD, perfectionism, and the complex intersection of achievement and identity.
Her scholarly expertise includes the lived experiences of Black women with ADHD, perfectionism among high-achieving women, barriers to help-seeking in marginalized communities, and supporting counselors in training and early career professionals in developing their counselor identity and confidence. Her dissertation research centered on the late diagnosis of ADHD in Black women, drawing on Black Feminist Thought and Intersectionality frameworks. She has presented nationally and regionally on ADHD, identity, and counselor education, and is committed to bridging research and practice to empower underrepresented populations. In her free time, you will find her spending time with friends and family, trying new makeup and skincare, or making natural herbal teas.
