Teaching and Scholarly Interests

Stephanie Stern's area of research focuses on fiction and social development. Her work looks at the impact exposure to fiction has on the development of an individuals' beliefs, attitudes, and knowledge about the world. She has presented and published on topics ranging from attachment styles and favorite characters to relationship beliefs, depictions of Autism Spectrum Disorder in the media, and biases towards others.
