Teaching and Scholarly Interests
A proud Georgia native, Professor Slaton has been a dedicated Physician Assistant caring for cancer patients since 2005, with experience spanning medical oncology, gynecologic oncology, and surgical oncology. She began clinical precepting in general surgery in 2014 and transitioned to full-time academia in November 2019. In her role as Director of Clinical Education, Professor Slaton is deeply committed to mentorship, consistently guiding and supporting students throughout their academic and professional journeys. Her passion for teaching is matched by her dedication to developing future healthcare providers who are both clinically skilled and culturally sensitive.
