Lexi Hardeman
We are celebrating Lexi Hardeman, one of our standout graduate studies students whose path toward dermatology is rooted in purpose, resilience and representation.
Lexi’s journey began in Seattle, where seeing a Black woman dermatologist helped her imagine a future in medicine for herself. That spark carried her to Atlanta, through a biology degree, global clinical shadowing in Spain, and early hands‑on experience in dermatology, all confirming that she was exactly where she belonged.
When Lexi realized she needed a program that would help her rebuild her sciences foundation and strengthen her confidence to tackle medical school, she chose the best place to cover all of these. Agnes Scott.
Since then, she’s been thriving: balancing rigorous coursework, volunteering at Emory Winship’s Breast Imaging Center, preparing for the MCAT and leaning into the support of a cohort and advisors who truly see her.
What drives Lexi is simple but powerful. Empathy. Whole‑person care and the desire to create the kind of patient experience that shaped her own life.

Lexi’s long‑term vision includes opening her own dermatology practice and skincare line. She desires to be the change she sees that is needed in this world.
On National Dermatology Day, we’re proud to honor Lexi and the bright future she’s building that will be the pathway for another aspiring medical professional. And we’re equally proud that Agnes Scott continues to be a place where women with STEM‑driven dreams find the community, culture of excellence and encouragement they need to rise.
