Ronald E. Alston

Ronald E. Alston is Atlanta Market President at SunTrust now Truist, where he leads
the Commercial Banking Team working with companies that have annual revenues of
$5 to $75 million in Fulton and Dekalb Counties, Georgia.  A graduate of Northeastern University, he earned his Master of Business Administration in finance from
The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.


Frank S. Blake
The Home Depot

Francis S. “Frank” Blake retired as chairman of The Home Depot in January 2015, having served as Chairman and CEO of the world’s largest home improvement retail business since 2007. Prior to joining The Home Depot in 2002, he held positions with the U.S. Department of Energy and General Electric. A graduate of Harvard University, Mr. Blake earned a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law.

Mary Brown Bullock

Mary Brown Bullock is an educator and scholar of U.S.-China relations and president emerita of Agnes Scott College. She served as the inaugural executive vice chancellor of Duke Kunshan University in Kunshan, China, from 2012 to 2015. A 1966 graduate of Agnes Scott, she holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in Chinese history from Stanford University.


Adrian J. Cronje

Adrian J. Cronje is chief executive officer, chief investment officer, chair of the Investment Strategy Team and a founding partner at Balentine, a wealth-management investment firm. He holds a Ph.D. in macroeconomics and econometrics and a master’s degree in economics and finance from the University of Cambridge and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. 


Duriya M. Farooqui
Atlanta, Georgia

Duriya M. Farooqui is a board director of Intercontinental Hotels Group and International Exchange, as well as the New York Stock Exchange. With two decades of experience in economic development, business transformation and innovation, she was a president at Georgia Pacific and a principal at Bain & Company and served as COO for City of Atlanta.  A graduate of Hampshire College, she holds an M.P.A. in international development from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

Ann Glendinning

Ann Glendinning retired from the Cobb County School District as assistant superintendent for special student services. She graduated in 1968 from Agnes Scott College, where she majored in psychology. She received her M.Ed., Ed.S. and Ph.D. from Georgia State University.


Sarah Walker Guthrie

Sarah Walker Guthrie is the director of JT Walker Industries, Inc., a manufacturer of products for the building industry.  Ms. Guthrie received her bachelor's degree in history from Agnes Scott College in 1969 and later her master's degree also in history from Emory University.  She has completed executive education programs at Harvard Business School and the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University.

Mary Lou Hawkes

Mary Lou Cornwall Hawkes is a community volunteer and former math teacher. She received her B.A. in mathematics from Agnes Scott College in 1965. Ms. Hawkes is an active volunteer with the Peabody Essex Museum, where she serves on the American Decorative Arts Committee.


Loucy Tittle Hay
Oxford, Georgia

Loucy Tittle Hay is an active community volunteer and entrepreneur, who earned her B.A. in economics from Agnes Scott College in 1987. Founding chairperson for the Newton County Foundation for Academic Excellence, she has worked since 2007 with the Newton County Board of Education to create and sustain Newton County Theme School and in commercial real estate management. Previously she was CEO of Merryvale Assisted Living.


Douglas A. Hicks

Douglas A. Hicks is Dean of Oxford College of Emory University and William R. Kenan Jr. Professor of Religion, serving as chief administrative and academic officer. A graduate of Davidson College and ordained Presbyterian minister, he holds a Ph.D. and M.A in religion from Harvard University and a M.Div. from Duke University.

Elizabeth "Beth" Daniel Holder is an active community volunteer in Atlanta. Ms. Holder received her B.A. in economics from Agnes Scott College in 1982. A trustee of the Woodruff Arts Center, she has served as a member of the boards of the Atlanta Ballet, Camp Merrie-Woode Foundation, the Georgia Center for Children and the North Georgia Chapter of the March of Dimes.

Elizabeth Rhett Jones has served as an in-house pro bono attorney with Legal Services of Northwest Jersey and New Jersey Crime Victims Law Center, as an associate with Strasser law firm and as a teacher and reading specialist for learning-disabled children.  A 1973 graduate of Agnes Scott College, she earned her M.A. in psychoeducational disabilities and reading from New York University and her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law.

Anne H. Kaiser is vice president of community and economic development for Georgia Power.  Earlier she held senior marketing management positions at KPMG, The Westminster Schools and Alston & Bird.  A graduate of The University of Georgia, she completed Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program and the National Association of Corporate Directors' College.

Giselle Fernandez Martin is director of recruitment and talent in the Office of Undergraduate Admission at Emory University responsible for strategic talent search initiatives and key partnership opportunities.  She earned a B.A. in international relations from Agnes Scott College in 1998 and holds an M.S. in history and sociology of science and technology from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Mr. Martin holds a bachelor’s degree in applied engineering from the United States Military Academy and an M.B.A. from Emory University's Goizueta Business School.

Margaret McCray-Finke is a seasoned volunteer and an experienced senior-level manager for music organizations.  Active in her community, she serves organizations such as the Young Presidents' Organization and Graland Country Day School in Denver, Colorado. She earned her B.A. in 1989 from Agnes Scott College in international relations.

Whitney Miller Ott is a partner at Jackson Spalding, one of the largest independent, integrated marketing firms in the Southeast.  A member of the Management Team, she oversees projects for high-profile clients, including The Coca-Cola Company; leads client messaging, coaching and facilitation sessions; and handles crisis communications.  She graduated from Agnes Scott College in 2003 with a major in history.

Deborah Harris Painter retired as the executive vice president planning and chief information officer at Norfolk Southern Corporation. Ms. Painter received her B.A. in English from Agnes Scott College in 1975 and completed management and executive education programs at Northwestern University, Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and Harvard Business School.

David A. Ross, a recognized leader in global health and a pioneer in health informatics, is president and chief executive officer of The Task Force for Global Health. He holds a Doctor of Science in operations research from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in aerospace engineering from the University of Colorado.

She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Agnes Scott in 1985 and also studied at the Universityé Libre de Bruxelles in Brussels, Belgium.

Charles Shapiro is president of the World Affairs Council of Atlanta. Previously he held numerous senior positions with the U.S. Department of State, including Ambassador to Venezuela and principal deputy assistant secretary for the western hemisphere. Mr. Shapiro earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and M.Ed. from Georgia State University.

She served as pastor and head of staff at Davidson Presbyterian Church in Davidson, North Carolina, from 2008 until her retirement in 2017.  A sociology major, she received her Bachelor of Arts from Agnes Scott College in 1974 and her M.Div. from Columbia Theological Seminary.

Before serving as executive vice president and provost of the University of the South, Dr. Swallow was Kimbrough Professor of Mathematics and Humanities at Davidson College.
