Global Learning Specialization

All students are able to participate in the many Advanced Global Experiences offered by Agnes Scott , including co-curricular activities and study abroad opportunities. For those students who elect to complete a Specialization in Global Learning, they will undertake advanced work in global studies and earn a notation on their transcript.    

Specialization in Global Learning Requirements (Class of 2020 and 2021)

  • Global Learning Across the Liberal Arts course (4 credits)
  • Global Learning Elective course (2-4 credits)
  • Global experiences (e.g., semester or summer abroad, global internship, global mentored research, etc.)
  • Participation in Team Global Challenge or enrollment in SCALE (LDR 201), the Sophomore Class Atlanta Leadership Experience

Specialization in Global Learning Requirements (Class of 2022 and 2023)

  • GBL 201: Global Learning Seminar (4 credits) 
  • 1 GBL Breadth (4 credits)
  • Global experience (e.g., semester or summer abroad, global internship, global mentored research, etc.) (2-4 credits)
  • 3rd year Language course beyond intermediate (or 202) level (4 credits)*

**Class of 2022, if you prefer to follow the previous specialization requirements instead (above), you would need to enroll in SCALE to substitute for the Team Global Challenge.
