Teaching and Scholarly Interests

Their research is focused on experiences of marginalization and oppression, specifically those within the queer community across the lifespan, youth in K-12 schools, and BIPOC counselors-in-training. For clinical work and supervision, Dr. Fulling-Smith specializes in working with youth who have experienced sexual and physical trauma, transgender and gender expansive youth, and caregivers/parents of these youth.

Professional Activities

They have co-authored several peer-reviewed journal articles in counseling journals, serve as an editorial board member for the Journal of Counseling Leadership and Advocacy, and currently serve in the elected position of Secretary (member of the Governing Council) for the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision.
