Chloe Gilkesson

chloe-gilkesson-photo_small.jpgChloe (she/her/hers) is a sophomore neuroscience major born and raised in Jonesboro, Georgia. Although this is her first year tutoring, she has always enjoyed helping her friends improve their papers and speeches, and she hopes to bring the same eagerness to assist others to the CWS. Since Chloe loves learning about new topics, she hopes to help Scotties from a multitude of different disciplines to expand her knowledge on various subjects. Besides this, she is intent on using her tutoring experience to build her interpersonal skills and prepare for her career goal of psychiatry. Chloe cares deeply about matters surrounding mental health, especially disorders such as schizophrenia and PTSD, that disproportionately affect underrepresented populations. She wishes to advocate for and provide much needed psychiatric care for these groups. Recently, Chloe has started learning ASL and also wants to incorporate that into her future career. Chloe is also a lover of movies and is currently the treasurer for the club Color in Film.  Additionally, she enjoys participating in volunteer events with clubs like Scotties for Change. Chloe’s other hobbies include baking on impulse, playing tennis with her family, and reading just about anything.  Mostly, Chloe cannot wait to meet Scotties she has never talked to before, and in the process of tutoring others, steadily improve her skills as a writer and speaker.
