About:

The Julia T. Gary Science Fund of Agnes Scott College was established in 2002 through the generosity of Julia T. Gary for the benefit of Agnes Scott College. The fund is intended to support summer research projects for students and faculty in the sciences. 

Applications Due:

1 February (annually) at 5:00 p.m. Atlanta time

When the 1st falls on a weekend or holiday, the due date is the first business day after the 1st.

Amount:

Up to $1,700.  There is usually only one award made each year.

Project period:

From date of award through 31 August (of the same calendar year)

Who is Eligible:

Faculty members proposing projects in the fields of chemistry, biology, physics, astronomy, or mathematics.

Activities Funded:

Summer research projects for students and faculty in the sciences.  Support for summer research is understood to mean student wages, funds for equipment purchase, and/or all purposes related to the research project and the researchers during the summer period.

Agnes Scott College’s Professional Development Committee (PDC)

Who awards funds:

VPAA/DOC upon recommendation from the PDC

Final report due:

30 September (by email to OSP@agnesscott.edu)
