Resignation is a voluntary act initiated by the employee to terminate employment with Agnes Scott College. Although advance notice is not required, ASC requests at least two-weeks' written notice of resignation from nonexempt employees and four weeks' notice from exempt employees. Without at least two weeks' notice, the individual will not be eligible to be considered for re hire with the College.

A copy of the employee's resignation notice must be submitted to the Office of Human Resources. Upon receipt of this notice, the Office of Human Resources will forward exit paperwork and instructions to the employee. This will include information about the effect of resignation on benefits and instructions for returning all College property, such as keys, College-provided credit cards, computer equipment, etc. The exiting employee is responsible for returning all items to the appropriate department and/or coordinating with her/his supervisor about the return of these items prior to the last day worked.

The exit paperwork includes a written exit survey and directions for scheduling an exit interview with the director of human resources. This discussion will include the reasons for resignation, the individual's overall employment experience with the College and other final arrangements that must be made prior to departure from Agnes Scott College.
