Teaching and Scholarly Interests

Dr. Robinson’s teaching and scholarly interests center on the integration of trauma, crisis, and family systems counseling within an ecologically informed framework. Her research has included, An Examination of the Relationship Between Food Security Status, Psychological Wellbeing, and Family Functioning: An Ecological Perspective with Implications for Clinical Practice and reflects her commitment to analyzing how systemic inequities affect families and psychological health. She is deeply invested in innovative, experiential, and student-centered pedagogy. She has presented nationally and internationally on topics such as post-traumatic growth in adolescent trauma survivors, efficacious treatment for bipolar disorders, clinical ethics, supervision and vicarious trauma, and culturally responsive counseling practices. Her ongoing scholarly agenda includes advancing multicultural counseling competence, developing innovative training models for clinical supervision, and exploring the intersections of trauma and family functioning.
