The Counselor Education Department within Graduate Studies at Agnes Scott College is seeking to hire an Assistant or Associate Professor (non-tenure track) and Director of School Counseling.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications: Earned PhD in Counselor Education by May 31, 2026 from a CACREP-accredited program. Holds or is eligible to be certified as a school counselor in Georgia. Demonstrated commitment to values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience leading a school counseling program is strongly preferred. Demonstrated commitment to the field of counseling through active engagement in professional organizations. Prior teaching experience in a graduate School Counseling program. Evidence of scholarship in the form of peer-reviewed publications and/or national and/or regional presentations. Preference given to scholarship addressing equity and diversity in counseling.
Position Description:
This position is for Assistant/Associate Professor and Director of the School Counseling (SC) program within the Counselor Education Department in Graduate Studies at Agnes Scott College. The position is a full-time, three-year, non-tenure track, 12-month appointment. This position is eligible for renewal.
The SC program is in the process of seeking CACREP accreditation for the school specialty area, and already holds CACREP accreditation for the Clinical Mental Health Counseling specialty area. The ideal candidate will assist with accreditation for the School Counseling specialty area and coordinate the School Counseling program. Primary responsibilities include teaching (60%), research/scholarship (20%), and service (20%). The teaching load is six courses per academic year, inclusive of the summer term. If leading the program as the Director of School Counseling, one course release per academic year will be provided.

Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with others and communicate effectively. Compensation and Benefits:
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits include health, dental, vision, and life insurance. After one year of employment, retirement benefits are available.
