Decatur, GA, April 10, 2019—Agnes Scott’s commitment to thinking deeply, living honorably and engaging the intellectual and social challenges of our times aligns with the college’s new graduate certificates in Data Visualization and Evaluation and Assessment Methods. Both programs encourage students to use innovative methods to assess and communicate significant data. The founding faculty director of Data Visualization and Evaluation and Assessment Methods graduate programs is Wendy Kallina, PhD.

Kallina brings 27 years of expertise in predictive analysis, data visualization, and program assessment. She holds a PhD in Human Development from Auburn University and a graduate certificate in Data Mining. Prior to joining Agnes Scott, Kallina served as the Director of Academic Analytics at Kennesaw State University.

Kallina’s experience in administering programs designed to help college-focused young adults excel in their desired fields of study and life-paths is a great match for Agnes Scott’s commitment to dynamic liberal arts and sciences. Kallina’s background in the field of program evaluation and data visualization includes Project Director at Middle Flint Perinatal Cooperative Project, Inc.; Director of Research and Evaluation at the Prevention Research Institute (PRI), where she created the department of evaluation for PRI and designed research tools for DUI offender programs across four states, including college alcohol prevention programs; Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness at Georgia Military College and Executive Director for Institutional Research, Planning and Assessment at Kennesaw State University (KSU), both where she provided leadership and project management for institutional effectiveness and institutional research and; finally, Director of Academic Analytics at KSU where she performed analyses and communicated information to stakeholders.

Agnes Scott’s Data Visualization graduate certificate equips graduate students with cutting-edge data analysis and visual design skills to become high-impact data storytellers. The Evaluation and Assessment Methods graduate certificate allows students to conduct research and evaluate data in order to communicate the value of an organization’s work and influence programmatic changes. The students are able to choose from five different graduate programs and become a force in their industries by harnessing their skills and using them to benefit their career choices.
