Journalist, Historian David Maraniss to Discuss New Bio about Obama

Preeminent journalist and modern historian David Maraniss, winner of two Pulitzer Prizes and author of the new biography “Barack Obama: The Story,” will speak at Agnes Scott on June 26 at 7 p.m. in Gaines Chapel, Presser Hall.

No ticket is required for this free event. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and books will be available for sale and signing at the event.

“Barack Obama: The Story” is based on hundreds of interviews including talks with President Obama in the Oval Office and a trove of personal and official letters, journals, diaries and other documents. 

Maraniss is associate editor of The Washington Post, winner of the 1993 Pulitzer for National reporting and the 2007 Pulitzer for team reporting from the Virginia Tech shooting tragedy. The author of an award-winning biography of President Bill Clinton, he also has written biographies of Roberto Clemente and Vince Lombardi and “The Marched Into Sunlight,” a book about Vietnam and the 1960s.
