Talya Trudell has joined Agnes Scott College as the Scotties’ new head softball coach.
Trudell comes to Agnes Scott with more than 30 years of softball experience, including four years as a Division I player at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She will lead this year’s team of two seniors, four juniors and 14 first-year athletes.
“We are very excited to welcome Coach Trudell to the Agnes Scott family,” said Agnes Scott College Athletic Director Joeleen Akin. “It is clear that she is incredibly passionate about softball and has the knowledge and experience necessary to bring our program to a higher level.”
As a pitcher for the Lady Mocs of UTC from 1998 until 2001, Trudell posted a record of 75-27. Her 22 career-shutouts rank her second in the school’s history, while her career ERA of 1.45 places her third on the school’s all-time list.
Trudell has 10 years of coaching experience, most recently as a club coach with the Roswell Orange Crush and as a private coach in the metro Atlanta and Chattanooga areas.
Trudell also played at the ASA Women’s A level and ASA Women’s Majors level. She currently plays with a Women’s ASA league in Lilburn, Ga.
