The Theme House Program at Agnes Scott College is an option of residential living for upperclassmen that is designed to bring students together who share a common area of interest and to provide a richer living and learning environment. Theme Houses allow students to initiate and create their own residential experience, plan activities that incorporate the theme, and develop community among participants, other building members and the campus as a whole. The programs designed by the Theme House members are generally more focused around the program's theme and academic-base to broaden and enhance the educational experience outside of the classroom. Students selected to participate in the Theme House Program are encouraged to actively participate in the activities of the house and the campus at large.
Each Theme House is aligned with a faculty or staff advisor who helps focus the residents on the program's theme outside of the classroom/lab experience. The opportunity to interact with faculty in an informal environment serves to increase faculty/staff and student interaction outside the classroom and is a major highlight of each Theme House.
