Annual Crime Statistics

Every October, the Department of Public Safety distributes annual crime statistics in the booklet Playing It Safe to each student. This is the official campus safety report for the college, published in compliance with the federal Campus Security Act of 1990, also known as the Clery Act.

The annual crime statistics report includes information on the previous three years about reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by ASC; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus.

The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus security, such as policies concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault and other matters.

About the Clery Act
The Clery Act requires any college or university receiving federal financial aid to list the number of reported occurrences of specified crimes, as well as a variety of security and crime-related information.
