In the spring semester of their first year, all students take Global Learning 102 where they are introduced to global structures, systems and processes. During Peak Week, first-year students apply these concepts through Global Journeys trips which provides them with a cultural immersion experience that examines key themes explored in their GBL 102 class;  globalization; identity/self/other/culture; imperialism/colonialism/diaspora; ethics of travel.

The eight-day faculty-led trip provides students with a unique perspective on global issues. Readings, films, reflection activities, and on-site community engagement create a dynamic and interactive learning environment that forms the foundation for students’ global learning throughout their four years on campus.
