Psychology

Cristina Gutierrez was a student athlete at Agnes Scott, passionate both about her role on the basketball court and her love for Psychology. She graduated in 2012 with her BA in Psychology. She is originally from Puerto Rico and she now lives in Stamford, Connecticut. She earned her MA in Industrial and Organizational (I-O) Psychology from the University of West Florida. She currently works for McKinsey & Company as a Learning Analytics Senior Specialist. Before working at McKinsey she worked at Starwood Hotels & Resort as a Learning and Development Manager, specializing in learning analytics and assessment and impact of training programs. While she was at Agnes Scott she interned at Developmental Dimensions International and also at the City of Decatur Human Resources. She also worked in Dr. Hughes’ research lab. Being at Agnes Scott allowed her to think critically, live passionately, and grow globally. More specifically, she recalls being in Introduction to Psychology, and “realizing that I could be my true self and still be loved for who I am. Being a Scottie allowed me to move forward in my life, embracing myself for who I truly am, and for that I am forever thankful for my time at Agnes Scott.” Her photo is of her with a St. Regis Saber when she was taught to open a bottle of champagne with it as a brand activity for Starwood.
