Two New Members on Committee

Members of the Agnes Scott Community,

Today, we are writing to update the Agnes Scott community on the initial work of the Presidential Search Committee. In June, we kicked off our work with our first committee meeting, followed by two days of on-campus meetings with various stakeholders, including faculty, staff, senior administrators, trustees, students and alumnae, led by Witt/Kieffer, our search consultants. The committee spent time discussing the role of the committee, the attributes desired in the next president and the process of gathering our stakeholders’ input, starting with the campus meetings. We are grateful to all of those who enthusiastically participated in the on-campus meetings as well as the search committee meeting. The insights provided to our consultants during these two days provided a great roadmap for the Leadership Profile, which they are assisting us in crafting, and will set us on the right course for finding our next visionary leader.

On behalf of Board Chair Elizabeth D. Holder ’82, we also are announcing that the search committee has grown by the addition of two members: Charles A. Dana Professor of English Christine S. Cozzens and Board Vice Chair Portia O. Morrison ’66. As we embarked on the process of leading this critically important search, we realized that increasing the breadth of skills and perspectives of our committee would enhance our effectiveness. As a result, we are pleased to announce that Christine and Portia have agreed to join us on this journey, bringing additional insights from their long histories with Agnes Scott. Please join us in thanking them for agreeing to serve with us.

Finally, please take advantage of the opportunities provided to share your comments and suggestions through the Input and Feedback Form available on the Presidential Search website.

Sincerely,

Deb Harris Painter ’75 Elizabeth H. Noe ’86
