Committee Interviews Candidates

Dear Members of the Agnes Scott Community,

We write today with an update on the presidential search.

Since our last update, the search has moved forward significantly. The search committee spent two very full days in Atlanta, in back-to-back interviews with an exceptionally strong group of candidates, each of whom would bring a great deal to the college. We were particularly impressed with both the strength and diversity of the pool, which included a broad range of backgrounds, perspectives and strengths. After extensive conversation and review of our impressions from the interviews as well as information from reference reports and due diligence checks, the committee narrowed down the list to four top candidates.

The search committee recently welcomed back to Atlanta—for an in-depth second set of conversations over three days—these four very impressive candidates for Agnes Scott’s ninth president. This set of interviews included opportunities for additional faculty, staff and student representatives, as well as trustees and members of the President's Cabinet, to meet these diverse and talented candidates thus ensuring that we had broad input from all constituencies.

The search committee wishes to thank all who participated in this round of interviews with us and who shared invaluable feedback with the committee. Their time and service, particularly during this very busy time of year, was of paramount importance, and we deeply appreciate their commitment.

This exciting process is continuing to move forward on schedule. Our hope is to have an announcement for the entire Agnes Scott community in January.

With best wishes for the holiday season,
