Presidential Search

A highly regarded independent liberal arts college for women, Agnes Scott College is on a transformational journey, making it an exciting yet critical time in the college's 128-year history.

In the challenging and changing landscape of higher education, Agnes Scott is positioned well for the future due to the innovative and extraordinary leadership of President Elizabeth Kiss. Agnes Scott is nationally recognized for SUMMIT, its signature innovative approach to a liberal arts education that provides every student, regardless of major, with a course of study focused on global learning and leadership development. This year the college was ranked the no. 4 Most Innovative School among national liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report and also received the 2017 American Council on Education/Fidelity Investments Award for Institutional Transformation.

Following President Kiss’ announcement that she will conclude her presidency at the end of the 2017-2018 academic year after 12 years of exemplary service, the Board of Trustees has launched a search for Agnes Scott’s ninth president.

The Agnes Scott College community is seeking an inspiring, visionary leader for its ninth president, one who will be passionately committed to the college’s mission and will build upon the strong foundation of success currently in place.

A search committee, composed of trustees, faculty, staff and students, is charged with heading the presidential search and will work closely with executive search firm Witt/Kieffer. The search committee welcomes input from all members of the Agnes Scott community to ensure the search process is informed by multiple perspectives and invites the serious interest of candidates who share our mission of educating women to think deeply, live honorably and engage the intellectual and social challenges of their times.
