Agnes Scott Named One of Best 387 Colleges by Princeton Review

Thursday, September 9, 2021

Decatur, GA, September 9, 2021—Once again, Agnes Scott College has been recognized as one of the best places to study in the country. The Princeton Review placed the college within its The Best 387 Colleges admissions guide ahead of the 2021-22 academic year.

The Princeton Review releases its annual lists each fall, gathering data from administrators, enrollment officials and students to gauge the student experience at hundreds of institutions. Fewer than 15% of colleges in the United States make the guide annually, which does not rank schools in a traditional hierarchical order, but instead focuses on specifically curated “Great Lists.”

Agnes Scott is consistently recognized for providing students with a world-changing education, preparing them to be the global leaders of tomorrow. However, the college’s emphasis on student support through professional development initiatives and opportunities is perhaps its most notable characteristic.

The guide offers this assessment, which also shares some student commentary: “Students lucky enough to attend Agnes Scott College, a small liberal arts school within the wide metropolitan Atlanta area, have the opportunity to join a ‘supportive community of strong women working to create change in the world.’ Indeed, undergrads here really respect the fact that the college truly “teach[es students] to engage in the social challenges of [their] time.’”

Another student was quoted as saying, “Many words come to mind when I think about my peers, but the one that best embodies everyone is warmth...Whenever I need help, my peers are continuously there for me, to answer questions and support the decisions I make. I never feel alone.”

The college’s rankings of seventh-best “Alumni Network” and eighth-best “Schools Making an Impact” among private institutions backs it up.

In addition, Agnes Scott also ranked near the top among schools in internship opportunities (20th) and green colleges (25th). Agnes Scott continues to be placed on the publication’s Best Southeastern Colleges and Best Town-Gown Relations lists, which recognizes Agnes Scott students’ positive relationship with the greater Decatur community.
