Administrative Computing

Administrative Computing is a group of information technology professionals dedicated to providing excellent service in support of Agnes Scott College’s administrative computing systems. Our service is characterized by working collaboratively with our partners to understand their business requirements and working together to determine the optimal application of technology to address those requirements. We focus our resources on Ellucian’s Colleague solution and hardware & software integrated or interfaced with Colleague, including  AscAgnes, SRM, OnBase, Tuition Management System (TMS), Chase PCard system, Informer and Moodle.  

Administrative Computing is responsible for planning, implementation, development, and maintenance of the information management systems that support the administrative functions of the college. Essential functions include:

  • Managing and administering the college’s fully-integrated information management systems (Ellucian – Colleague .
  • Developing and maintaining an administrative computing strategic plan for the college, based on management priorities, policy directions, goals, and the college’s mission.
  • Collaborating with various college offices to develop effective computing and other technology-related solutions.

Ellucian (formerly Datatel)   is a leading provider of advanced information management solutions for higher education.  Agnes Scott College has used Ellucian’s Colleague solution since 1985. 

Colleague includes three integrated systems - Colleague Financials, Human Resources and the Student System. While each of Colleague's specialized systems can operate in a stand-alone environment, the integration of all three of the systems provides ASC with the capability to share information campus-wide.

Colleague Financials, used by the Accounting Office, contains such modules as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Purchasing.

Human Resources, contains the Personnel and Payroll modules.

The Student System, contains the most modules and is used by Admission, Registrar, Financial Aid, Student Life and Accounting.

Application support is provided during regular office hours, unless special arrangements are made with ITS, in advance.  All Administrative system issues or project requests should be sent to itshelp.
