The only post-baccalaureate pre-medical program of its kind in Georgia, now in its 25th year.
Agnes Scott's Post-Bacc Pre-Med program offers a challenging curriculum and a supportive environment where students learn from professors and peers within their cohort. And the success of our program is measured by our students' success - our post-bacc students have an acceptance rate of close to 75% into the medical school of their choice.*
We take a holistic approach by assisting with the academics, as well as aiding with an action plan for your medical school application process - everything from MCAT preparation to personalized committee letters.
Career-changers or graduates who want to pursue medical, dental, or veterinary school, but have little or no academic background in the sciences, will receive the instruction and support needed to apply to a competitive medical school program.
Open to highly motivated individuals, regardless of gender, with successful undergraduate academic careers, this post-bacc pre-med program offers the rigors of medical school in a supportive environment.
This 12-month cohort program features comprehensive studies in pre-medical laboratory sciences, taught by our award-winning faculty, along with the necessary support and guidance to prepare you for the medical school application process. You'll benefit from:
Our post-bacc pre-med students work with a health professions advisor, experienced with providing you with the necessary support to tackle a complex process. You will receive guidance through academic advising, personal statement development, resume review, mock interviews, and health professions information sessions. Your advisor also coordinates your committee letters.
Linkage agreements allow students to avoid the “glide year” (the year between filing the AMCAS application and matriculation) by initiating the application process to a medical program. Students who are Georgia residents and meet the Mercer University requirements can bypass the glide year and enroll in medical school upon completion of this program.
Our post-bacc students who complete the program in good standing will also receive personalized, detailed committee letters for their health professions application. Each committee letter is tailored to your specific application needs for each institution where you are applying. This service is available to you within two years of program completion.
Not only do our students have an acceptance rate of close to 75% into the health professions school of their choice, the institutions are also prestigious.*
