Programs Overview

Our post-baccalaureate programs include a pre-medical certificate, pre-medical flex, and pre-allied health programs.

Agnes Scott's Pre-Medical and Pre-Allied Health post-baccalaureate programs offer a challenging curriculum and a supportive environment where students learn from professors and peers within their cohort. Building on the 25+ year success of our Post-Bacc Pre-Med program, 75% of our students are accepted into medical school during their first cycle, we now have programs tailored to our students' needs to pursue careers in health sciences.*

We take a holistic approach by assisting with the academics, as well as aiding with an action plan for your medical or health professions application process - everything from MCAT preparation to personalized committee letters.

Whether you are a career-changer or in need of academic record enhancement, we offer preparatory programs for individuals pursuing medical, dental, or veterinary school, or developing a career in professional health sciences, such as physician assistant, pharmacy, physical therapy, and more.

Open to highly motivated individuals, regardless of gender, with undergraduate degrees of any kind, our post-bacc pre-med and pre-allied health programs offer the rigors of medical school and health professions programs in a supportive environment.

What You'll Learn

Our 12-month cohort programs feature comprehensive studies in pre-medical laboratory sciences, taught by our award-winning faculty in small classes, and an MCAT (GRE, DAT, or related) preparation course, along with the necessary support and guidance to prepare you for the professional school application process. You'll benefit from:

  • Academic partnerships, including linkage agreements, with institutions such as Mercer University School of Medicine
  • Health Professions Advising by engaged staff who support you through committee letters, mock interviews, and the application writing process
  • Personalized Committee Letter - post-bacc students who complete the program in good standing also receive personalized, detailed committee letters for their health professions application

Post-Bacc Programs Offered

Pre-Medical Certificate

The Pre-Medical Certificate program is for the career-changer who excelled in their academic programs and requires the necessary core science classes to apply to medical school. This 12-month cohort program is designed for students who took little to none of the core science requirements. Students in this certificate program complete 36 hours of pre-medical coursework.

Pre-Medical Flex

The Pre-Medical Flex program is a non-degree, 12-month cohort program designed with flexibility in mind. The Pre-Med Flex is ideal for students who need select pre-medical courses, or who seek to improve their academic record to become competitive applicants for medical, dental, or veterinary school.

Pre-Allied Health

The Pre-Allied Health program is a 12-month cohort program designed for students who want to develop a career in professional allied health fields, such as physician assistant, pharmacy, physical therapy, and more. Pre-allied health students will complete the necessary sciences, with a clinical practicum experience. The program is designed for career changers and those looking to improve their academic credentials to become competitive applicants for health professions programs.
