Agnes Scott College is hosting the annual Gay Johnson McDougall Symposium on Race, Justice and Reconciliation on April 20-22 as part of the series “Lifting the Veil: A History of Race and Racism at Agnes Scott College.” The featured speaker for this year’s symposium is author, Alice Walker.

The acclaimed poet, novelist, activist and Pulitzer Prize–winning author Alice Walker will engage the audience in an intimate lecture inspired by her life’s work and the significance of this momentous occasion at Agnes Scott. Walker won both the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1983 for The Color Purple, which was adapted as a movie in 1985 and a Broadway musical in 2005.
