penAs part of the annual 100 Thousand Poets for Change Global Day, Agnes Scott College will host a gathering of poets, spoken-word performers and artists. This year’s theme is Poets and Artists Unite for Peace, Sustainability, and Justice. Organized by Professor Waqas Khwaja, the event will offer poetry readings and spoken-word performances in multiple languages, as well as an opportunity for artists to display their art work on the designated theme. Participants may read, or perform, their own poem, in any language, to music, if they wish to, or a poem by another that speaks to the subject, or they may present their artwork on the theme for the event.

Participants include, in alphabetical order, Franklin Abbot, Funmi Joy Akinfenwa, Jennifer Arellano, Anne Beidler, Calvin Burgamy, Tassia Drame, Alan Grostephan, Roshan Iqbal, Kai Issa, Katie Johnson, Jaya Kamlani, Murali Kamma, Susan Kidd, Julia Knowlton, Andrea Rogers, Anji Sings, Paige Sullivan, Marcus Taylor, Varsha Thebo, Lauren Upadhyay, Dan Veach, and Ajay Vishwanathan.
