Wasfia Nazreen '06 is a mountaineer and prominent female activist from Bangladesh, a social worker, and a writer. She has worked internationally on development, research, advocacy, human-rights and environmental issues. In 2011, she launched the "Bangladesh on Seven Summits" campaign to celebrate the progress of Bangladeshi women and embarked on a journey to climb the highest mountains of each of the seven continents.  She is the founder of Ösel Bangladesh - a foundation aimed to develop vital education programs and outdoor training for marginalized adolescent girls in Bangladesh, empowering them to confidently choose lifestyles beyond traditional gender roles. Nazreen is currently working on three books, including a children's book in her native language Bangla.
