Fall Semester at Agnes Scott

Dear Agnes Scott Community,

It is with much enthusiasm and gratitude that I announce plans for a full return to campus for the fall 2021 semester. Based on the availability of vaccines, current projections by public health officials, and the successes we have experienced with partially re-opening the campus this semester, we anticipate a full return to campus and the resumption of standard operations for our students, faculty and staff this fall. Classes will be held in-person beginning on Monday, August 23. Agnes Scott is a residential college, and undergraduate students will be expected to reside on campus unless approved to live off-campus through the college’s existing procedures. I cannot wait to have you all back on campus!

The health and safety of our community continues to be our top priority, and our policies and protocols for masks, distancing, testing, etc. will remain in place as long as necessary. Please check the college’s website for updates; the FAQ on returning for the fall semester provides details on our plans.

The college’s Coronavirus Task Force, co-chaired by Vice Presidents Ken England and Karen Goff, continues to monitor the pandemic and will provide ongoing recommendations based on guidance from state and national health organizations. I want to thank Karen and Ken for their leadership over the past year and express my appreciation to all members of the task force and those of you who have worked with the task force on committees and subcommittees. I am grateful that thanks to your efforts our community has remained safe while living, learning, teaching, and working in the midst of a global pandemic.

I am equally grateful to all members of our campus community who have lived responsibly with a concern for the health and safety of others. We are a community that cares for each other, and I am confident we will be together again this fall.

With my sincere appreciation,
Leocadia I. Zak, JD
President
