Explore the Arboretum

Ways to tour the arboretum:

  • Locations
  • Species
  • Topics

If you know your way around campus or even if you know your favorite spot is the Trellis Garden, then search by location. If you have a favorite type of tree like our eastern hemlocks or sycamore, then search by species. If you’re a huge history buff or want to know more about how trees help us to live sustainably, then search by topic.

Each location is assigned a specific topic (e.g., ‘Living Fossils’ tells us about the ginkgoes and dawn redwood, while ‘Dieckmann Magnolias’ tells us about Prof. Dieckmann and the magnolia trees he planted from seeds). Search through all 18 locations to learn more about the locations, species, and topics you will encounter on your tour.

View the Title Index for a complete list of the 18 locations.
