Things to Know this Month from Alumnae Relations | February 2021

2020-21 ALUMNAE SURVEY
Agnes Scott Alumnae Survey - Check your email!

On January 27, the Agnes Scott College Office of Alumnae Relations was excited to send out an email to almost 9,000 alumnae from the decades of 2010-1950 with a link to Phase 2 of the 2020-2021 Alumnae Survey. Thanks to all who have already responded!

If you haven’t yet responded, we invite you to take a moment and take the survey. Every alumna who completes the survey in its entirety will be entered into a drawing for Scottie Swag.  If you started but didn’t finish, opening up the original link will allow you to finish the survey before it closes.

If you didn't get the email from us with your survey, please:

  • Check your spam or junk folder.
  • Check other possible email addresses where the email might have gone.
  • Check ScottieNet, the online alumnae directory,to make sure that the email you use matches the email address we have on file.

If you still can't find the survey after trying those tips, please let us know

Important for you to know: Our lives, as alums, are complex and unique. We know that your life (or life stage) may include children, grandchildren, parents, volunteerism, careers and many other facets.

We received feedback that some alumnae felt excluded by the questions about “post-graduate experience.” Excluding any Scottie was not our intent! Thank you to those who shared your perspective. Please know that we’ve heard you and promise to keep learning and improving.

Among the first survey questions was a section about post-graduate experience. We hope to gain information about your experiences to support current students and help us build new elements of programming. This section of the survey – a few questions long, depending on how you answer - applies to Scotties who volunteer, work for pay, whether you work currently, are retired, are taking a hiatus or a detour.

If none of those apply to you, there are other survey questions that do. We also want to know how you engage as an alumna, and what programs and opportunities are of interest to you. We look forward to sharing all the survey results later this spring.

We're grateful for your time and valuable feedback!

Wishing you all the best,
Mary Frances Kerr '93, Senior Director, Alumnae Relations
Whitney Ott '03, President, Agnes Scott Alumnae Association

50 Years of the Agnes Scott College Writers' Festival
Mark your calendars now for the 50th anniversary of the Agnes Scott Writers' Festival. This year's festival, from March 28 - April 4, 2021, will be presented in a virtual format featuring all the great readings and performances you’ve come to expect.

SPECIAL REQUEST TO ALUMNAE: the Festival is collecting its missing history! Past issues of Writer’s Festival magazines and all winners will be shared via an online archive. Can you help us find issues from these years: 1972, 1977, 1978, 1979, or 1985? If you have a copy of the magazine for any of these missing years, could we borrow yours and make a copy for the college? We are also searching for Festival winners from 1973-1997. Please contact alumnae@agnesscott.edu.

Save the Date - Alumnae Weekend, June 3-6, 2021
This year’s event will be online.
All Agnes Scott alumnae are invited to this annual celebration — a weekend of online opportunities to reconnect you with classmates and your alma mater. This year, classes ending in 1 and 6 will be celebrating their reunions. Reunion classes ending in 0 and 5, impacted by the cancellation of Alumnae Weekend, are also especially invited.

Check for updates at agnesscott.edu/alumnae and click on the "Alumnae Weekend" tab. Here you can check out Alumnae Weekend plans as we firm them up and find out who your class officers are. Registration will begin Monday, April 5, 2021.

Don't forget about ScottieNet! To make sure you receive the latest news about Alumna Weekend ’21 and other news from the college, make sure your contact information is updated in ScottieNet or alumnae.agnesscott.edu/scottienet. Use the “advanced search” features to find classmates by city or graduation year.
