AJC Decatur Book Festival/Agnes Scott College Virtual Summer Camps for Tweens with Jackson Pearce

For Middle School Students (Rising 6th - 8th Graders)

This is an online summer camp for middle schoolers who love to read, write, and tell stories. With the help of teacher and author Jackson Pearce, campers will learn the basics of writing stories—how to structure plot, create characters, and build a world. We will explore different writing methods, discuss the mechanics of a good story, experiment in a variety of genres, and treat writing as play. Students will meet in the morning for our lesson and to receive the day’s writing challenge and will reconvene in the afternoon after they’ve completed the writing challenge. As such, students should have a significant amount of “free” time in the afternoon so that they are able to work on their stories! This camp is perfect for writers of all levels.
