The Redesigned SAT - FAQs for Agnes Scott

There’s a new SAT test this year – and you may have questions about how that affects your college search. Each school will have their own policies. Below, we attempt to answer some frequent questions. Find general information on the redesigned SAT test via the College Board.

Before we cover the questions, it's important to note that Agnes Scott does a holistic review of each application. The SAT or ACT score is only one part of a candidate’s application package, if the applicant chooses the test option. High school experiences and outside activities matter too.

Common FAQs about the Redesigned SAT

  • If I took the SAT previously, do I have to retake the new SAT?
No, Agnes Scott will accept scores from either version of the SAT for fall 2017 admission. We will use concordance tables provided by the College Board when evaluating scores across different test versions.
  • If I took the SAT previously but will also take the redesigned SAT, which scores should I send to Agnes Scott?
Send all of your scores to Agnes Scott. We will use concordance tables to convert older scores to match the redesigned test scores. When comparing multiple test scores, we always use the highest section score available when calculating a student’s overall score.
