Advising Tips:

I was nervous about having to start all over, but the best advice I received was that everyone else is too! Any time you are struggling with being away from home or having a hard time in a class, chances are that at least someone else in your class is feeling that way, if not at least one person on your hall. Use orientation to meet a ton of people because being able to walk around on campus and recognize faces is definitely comforting. When in doubt, reach out to a professor you feel comfortable with or your SUMMIT advisor or us! Everyone on campus is here to help you.

To me, academic success is…

learning. The letter on your transcript is just a letter, but being able to take something away from a class is academic success. It's pushing yourself to understand and apply the material you are studying and see the benefits of your work.
