First-Year Students

As an incoming first year student, you will be assigned a SUMMIT Advisor who will anchor your Board of Advisors through your entire academic journey. You will begin to develop a relationship with your SUMMIT Advisor over the summer before you even start classes over email and through an advising appointment carried out via video chat (Google Hangouts or Skype). You will also be introduced to your SUMMIT Peer Advisors and begin receiving communication and advice from older students who remember their own transitions to college well! We expect you will prepare over the summer to ensure that our conversation during your summer advising appointment is as productive as possible. To prepare for your summer advising experience, we have created a Summer Advising Guide.  Also keep an eye on your Agnes Scott email account for further communication from your SUMMIT Advisor and SUMMIT Peer Advisors.

While your SUMMIT Advisor will go over with you all credit you have earned prior to entering Agnes Scott (AP, IB, Joint Enrollment, etc), we know you are eager to see for yourselves what you have earned. Please review our AP and IB credit policies to learn more about what credit you can expect from exams you took in high school. It is important that you have submitted all college transcripts and official score reports to Agnes Scott College as soon as possible so that your SUMMIT Advisor can confirm your earned credit during your summer advising appointment.
