Your Role as a SUMMIT Advisee

The ongoing, collaborative relationship between you and your SUMMIT Advisor is the foundation of your Board of Advisors. While your SUMMIT Advisor is here to guide you, YOU are ultimately the director of your academic advising team. Your active involvement is key:
  • Familiarize yourself with the college’s academic policies and procedures, degree requirements, academic calendar and important deadlines.

  • Use online resources such as AscAgnes, the College Catalog and the Student Handbook in your academic planning.

  • Check your Agnes Scott e-mail often throughout the day for important campus communications. Arrive at your advising meetings on time.
  • Communicate regularly with your SUMMIT Advisor about how your classes are going and any challenges you may be experiencing.

  • Have a designated notebook or other recording space for SUMMIT Advising. Use it to prepare for advising meetings and to keep track of goals and to-do items.

  • Use your SUMMIT Portfolio to reflect on your academic progress and development and to prepare for course selection meetings with your SUMMIT Advisor.

  • Follow up with your SUMMIT Advisor on any action items you have discussed.

My ASC Blueprint is an online reflection tool in COMPASS intended to guide your academic, major, and career planning throughout your academic journey at Agnes Scott. This form will be very instrumental in documenting and supporting your post-ASC plans. Learn more about My ASC Blueprint and update it each year before you meet with your SUMMIT advisor!
