COMPASS for Students

COMPASS is an online system that provides you with an easy way to connect with course instructors, advisors and other helpful people across campus.  

COMPASS at Agnes Scott...

  • Enables instructors and advisors to send alerts if there are concerns about academic performance, “kudos” to acknowledge good performance, and referrals to additional support services.

  • Enables online appointment scheduling with instructors, advisors and support service offices who may schedule through COMPASS.

  • Provides students with a view of their “Success Network” in one place—includes information about current instructors and advisors.

  • Includes a list of all student support offices that can help students.


Log-in to COMPASS at compass.agnesscott.edu using your ASC User ID & password.

Setting Up Your Profile

Your profile lets instructors and advisors know who you are and how to contact you. It also allows you to set up your e-mail preferences.

1.  Log in to COMPASS at compass.agnesscott.edu using your Agnes Scott user name and password.

2.  To access your profile, click on "hamburger" navigation menu on the upper-left corner.

3.   Review and edit your profile with preferred contact info and email preferences.

4.  Click the Submit button.

 Make an Appointment with a Member of your Success Network

1. To make an appointment with an advisor or faculty member, select My Success Network from the "hamburger" navigation menu.

2. Click the triangle beside the individual you wish to contact. If online scheduling is available, select "Schedule" 

3. Select the type of appointment you need (i.e. "Teaching" "Advising" some may only have one type as an option.) Then click on the triangle to the right of the appointment type. This will bring a list of reasons. Select one of the reasons 

4. You will then see a calendar that defaults to the current week in the "date range." If you wish to change the range of dates to further in the future, select a future date in the calendar and  you will see available slots. Select a slot. 

5. The next page will ask you to complete and confirm the appointment. You have the option to provide more information about what you would like to discuss. Once you confirm you'll receive an email to your ASC email account with the details of the appointment and it will display on your COMPASS dashboard.

6. If a faculty or staff member has not set-up appointment sign-up times in COMPASS, please contact that person directly to schedule an appointment.

 

Access Campus Resources in the Services Catalog

1. Click on the Services button at the bottom of your My Success Network page to see additional resources on campus.

2. For each person or service listed, you will find contact information, supporting websites, office hours, and if online scheduling is enabled, a link to schedule an appointment will be listed.

 

Chart a Course for Academic Success

Advisors and faculty members may generate Flags,To-Do’s, Referrals & Kudos as signals for you to take action on a specific academic concern.  

1. If a To-Do, Referral, and/or academic progress Flag is raised, you will receive an email via your Agnes Scott email and a notification on your COMPASS dashboard. Advisors and instructors can also send Kudos for outstanding work.

2. You will be able to view the details of the alert on your COMPASS homepage.

3. Some of the To-Do’s and Referrals will have deadlines for completion and may require you to schedule an appointment with a faculty member or campus service provider.

4. It is important to check COMPASS on a regular basis to ensure you are up-to-date with any requests and appointments made by your Success Network.

5. If you have questions about a flag, please contact your course instructor.
