Moodle will run side-by-side with Canvas for Fall ‘19 and Spring ‘20 semesters.  Moodle will retire on May 22nd, 2020 at 5:00 PM

The updated Moodle to Canvas migration plan can be found by clicking here. Please note, there has been a key change in the plan as it relates to course migration. In conversations with Canvas clients and Canvas support, the recommended practice is to have faculty members responsible for backing up and moving over all Moodle courses they would like to keep. This creates a “clean” environment and only those courses that will be used are migrated.

ITS will offer introductory Canvas drop-in sessions throughout the semester. These will be announced in the Irvine.

Moodle Sites Created by Organizations & Committees

Many groups (e.g., faculty and staff committees) use Moodle to store committee documents and other group work. If you are in charge of this type of Moodle site, please click here to fill out a form alerting ITS that you will need a new site shell in Canvas. NOTE: It is the responsibility of each Moodle site owner to back up and migrate their site(s).
