Dana Scholars Leadership Program
Dana Scholars are Agnes Scott students who exhibit exceptional leadership and academic achievement.

This group of students participates in a leadership series featuring speakers who are accomplished leaders in their respective fields.  The program also allows students to learn from each other's experiences through "leadership lessons" sessions.

Through the program, students are exposed to a variety of topics including cultural and community issues and learn how seasoned leaders deal with such issues.

When are the scholars selected?
Dana Scholars are selected at the beginning of the academic year and are announced at Opening Convocation/Honors Day.

This Year's Program:
  • Women Make It Happen!
Featuring five alumnae of ASC and other women’s colleges who are the administration and backbone for the City of Decatur.

  • Leadership Lessons:  Handling Sticky Situations
Competing groups will come up with how they would handle the sticky situations presented to them.  The group with the best response wins!

  • Leadership Lessons:  Just Go There:  Learning Not to Be Afraid of Networking
Why do we cringe when we hear the word "networking"?  We'll talk about how to make it not so scary and even fun.

  • The One-Woman Show
Featuring Fatima Mehdikarimi ’00, founder of www.theshoppingqueen.com and mommy-extraordinaire.

  • The Corporate Office:  Dana Scholars Visit The Southern Company
The Southern Company's women leaders will share their challenges and successes and what it's like being a leader in the corporate world.
