Our Mission
The Office of Student Leadership & Development helps students reach their greatest potential by encouraging campus involvement and offering programs and guidance that aim to develop responsible leaders who work effectively with others to make positive impacts on the campus and greater community.
Leadership Programs
In addition to the programs listed below, guidance is provided for students regarding involvement on campus, individual leadership roles and situational leadership.
- Fall Leadership Retreat
Each August, student leaders kick off the school year with an overnight retreat. They learn how to more effectively manage their organizations, reach their goals and visions and continue developing as leaders.
- Emerging Leaders
Emerging Leaders is a program offered to selected students who have been identified as first-year leaders on campus. These young leaders have the opportunity to participate in a multi-week program that exposes them to different leadership topics and situations in order to refine their leadership skills. If you are interested in being in the Emerging Leaders program, please contact the Office of Student Leadership & Development.
- Leadership Transition
Leadership Transition, held in January, is a one-day workshop during which incoming and outgoing student organization officers meet to hand over their leadership roles. It is a time for idea and experience sharing in order to ensure that the leadership of all ASC student organizations remains strong year-round.
- Dana Leadership Scholars
A Dana Leadership Scholar is an Agnes Scott student who exhibits exceptional leadership and academic achievement. Once selected, this group of students participates in a leadership series featuring speakers who are accomplished leaders in their respective fields. Through the program, students are exposed to a variety of topics including cultural and community issues and learn how these seasoned leaders have dealt with such issues in their careers.
