Hometown: Duluth, Ga.
Tell us what you're doing now and the path that has brought you here.
I am theatre/sociology and anthropology double major from Duluth, Ga. This past semester I spent my time acting in the fall production of Julius Caesar, being a member of Honor Court and Orientation Council, as well as having the privilege of being Black Cat co-chair for the class of 2010. I am also taking on the task of being SGA Secretary and playing the part of "the Grandma" in Blackfriar's production of The Princess and the Pea.

During the second semester of my high school senior year, I sat in the middle of college acceptance letters without any particular ties to any of the places I had been admitted. A family friend had raved about Agnes Scott College for years but I had never paid attention to what he was saying, until I decided maybe it would be a good idea to take a look at the school. Within 15 minutes of my tour, I fell in love with the college. Aside from being completely mesmerized by the physical beauty of the campus, I was beyond impressed by the values the college honored and challenged its students to uphold.

What is it like to go to a women's college?
Attending a women's college has been the most empowering experience I have been fortunate enough to have. The intimate class room setting provides for incredible class lectures. Through discussion we also gain the knowledge of pressing social issues of our time and enjoy an intellectually stimulating environment that truly asks more of its students.

What do you value most about ASC?
There are many things I value about Agnes, like the academic integrity of the college and the close relationships formed with the faculty and staff. The thing I value most is the fact that we, as students, are so lucky to have numerous opportunities for internships, jobs, and can gain experience in whatever field we choose to concentrate.

Tell us about a memorable Agnes Scott experience.
During Orientation Week, I was assigned to stand outside of the parents’ continental breakfast and greet entering students and parents with President Kiss. As I was doing my job, President Kiss and I struck up a conversation about stage fright. Coincidentally, I was required to make an impromptu announcement to those eating breakfast, and I began to be nervous. Noticing my growing anxiety, President Kiss gave me some helpful hints to make my announcement.
