Major: International Relations and French
Hometown: Youngsville, Louisiana
Tell us about what you're doing now and the path that brought you here.
I am an aspiring international relations and French double major. Declaring a major was one of the most daunting tasks in my college career. I did not want to be one of those students who changed majors a thousand times and Agnes allowed me to explore. That is something that I appreciated because my interests spread over so many subjects. I am glad I was finally able to settle on something that I believe will make me happy.

What is it like to go to a women's college?
I enjoy the company of men, but to be honest, I do not think about the fact that I attend a women’s college unless someone asks about it. Between classes, softball and everything I am involved with, it is not something that affects me very much. When it is time to have fun and relax, I leave campus with my friends and we find something to do.

What do you value most about ASC?
People are not afraid to be themselves no matter what. Agnes Scott is a college with unique students. It does not have to be Halloween or Black Cat for you to see a costume, but that’s what makes life more interesting. It gives me something to look forward to during the week.

Tell us about a memorable Agnes Scott experience.
One memorable Agnes Scott experience was during my first year. I was in the parking garage collecting the copious material for first-year orientation. A woman walked up to my family and me and shook our hands. She said, “Hello, my name is Elizabeth. Welcome to Agnes Scott.” We spoke for a few minutes and she said that if we ever needed anything to contact her. I later found out that the woman was Elizabeth Kiss, the new college president. At that moment I felt at ease. I had always thought of a college president as a nonexistent individual who randomly showed up at school events, but President Kiss is not like that. I have actually been able to spend time with her, and she is an amazing person. I feel that if I were to knock on her door tomorrow, she would invite me in without any questions asked.
