Teaching and Scholarly Interests
Professor Schlig specializes in the literature and culture of 18th-, 19th-, and 20th-century Spain. His previous scholarship in the relations between literature and the visual arts culminated in the publication of The Mirror Metaphor in Modern Spanish Literary Aesthetics (Edwin Mellon, 2004). His current interests include the portrayal of artists and intellectuals in the literature and cinema of mid twentieth-century Spain.
